Warranty

Two Year Warranty Conditions:

PEUGEOT vehicles are guaranteed by the Manufacturer against all defects in the structure or materials, for the duration of 2 years, without any mileage limitation, from the date of delivery. This date is recorded on the Warranty Certificate, which is handed to the customer. This warranty covers the vehicles defined above driven in countries in which AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT is officially represented.

The PEUGEOT Warranty does not affect the statutory rights of the owner of the vehicle and is in addition to any other remedies which he or she may have under the contract of sale.

The manufacturer’s liability under this warranty is limited to:

  • The replacement of parts which in the opinion of the Manufacturer or his representative are defective, or their repair by an approved dealer free of charge (parts and labour); it is hereby specified that this repair or replacement can be carried out with new parts, new or reconditioned units, as may be reasonable in the circumstances,
  • The costs of repair at the site of the breakdown, or towing over a maximum distance of 60 miles (100 kilometres), to the nearest member of the duly authorized PEUGEOT repair network.

    Conditions of application of this warranty:
  • This warranty is subject to presentation of the Warranty Certificate, the Coupon* for the first service to be carried out at 6,000 miles (10,000 km) or 6 months of use (whichever comes first) duly completed by a member of the duly authorized PEUGEOT repair network and strict execution of the periodic services as defined in the PEUGEOT “Warranty and Maintenance Record” booklet.
  • The repairs carried out under warranty must be carried out by a member of the duly authorized PEUGEOT repair network.

    * This first service is carried out free of charge on presentation to the servicing representative of the document included in the PEUGEOT “Warranty and Maintenance Record” booklet (first service coupon).For Boxer 4x4 and LPG/CNG vehicles (1st service at 1500 miles, see BOXER 4X4 and LPG/CNG specific operations page 9), the lubricants are charged to the Customer

    The warranty can cease if the vehicle has been adversely affected by one or more of the following events:
  • Modifications or alterations have been carried out which have neither been provided for nor authorized by the Manufacturer or have been carried out without complying to the technical instructions specified by the manufacturer;
  • The vehicle is abused or the user does not comply with the instructions given in the Owner’s Documentation,
  • The vehicle is used in competitions or for a purpose for which it was not designed,
  • The vehicle is overloaded, even if only temporarily,

    Furthermore, the manufacturer’s warranty does not cover:
  • Routine maintenance, adjustments, periodic servicing, maintenance of oil, air, fuel, particle and passenger compartment filters.
  • The replacement of parts subject to normal wear and tear (tyres, spark plugs, wiper blades, brake discs and linings, shock absorbers, clutch exhaust, etc.) taking into account the sue and mileage of the vehicle,
  • The consequences of repairs, conversions or modifications carried out by companies which are not approved by the manufacturer;
  • Damage caused by fluids, parts, accessories other than original PEUGEIT products of those of equivalent quality.
  • Damage by natural elements e.g. hail storms, floods,
  • Damage resulting from accidents
  • Expenses not specifically provided for in this Warranty especially as a consequence of the vehicle being undriveable.
  • Use of the vehicle in the United States of America, or Canada where PEUGEOT provides no after-sales service.

    Repairs carried out under this Warranty do not extend the period of its validity.
    Parts or units removed for replacement under warranty become the property of PEUGEOT.
    In the case of a change of ownership, subsequent owners will benefit from the remaining period of the Warranty, up to the expiry date on the Warranty Certificate, provided that the conditions of application have been followed by each of the owners.


    The Paintwork Warranty:

    In addition to the two year Warranty, PEUGEOT vehicles are guaranteed by the manufacturer against any defect in the original paintwork, from the date of first registrations entered on the Warranty Certificate supplied with the vehicle, for a period of:
  • 3 years for all passenger cars,
  • The duration of the one-year Warranty for all utility vehicles.

    The Paintwork Warranty covers:

    The total or partial rework of the paintwork, which in the opinion of the manufacturer or his representative is defective according to the Manufacturer’s standards.

    The warranty applies on the express condition that the vehicle has always been repaired with strict compliance with the manufacturer’s standards and that the customer has had carried out, at the appropriate time and inconformity with the servicing schedule defined by the Manufacturer, on the one hand the periodic services mentioned in the PEUGEOT “Warranty and Maintenance Record” booklet and on the other hand, the repair of any damage to the vehicle.

    The Paintwork Warranty does not cover:
  • Damage to the paintwork attributable to the environment e.g. airborne deposits whether animal, vegetable or chemical, sand, salt, stone chips, scratches, damage by natural elements such as hail storms, floods and other external factors (whether or not due to an accident),
  • Damage due to the negligence of the user or as a result of not maintaining the bodywork in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations,
  •  Damage resulting from incidents not covered by the One Year Warranty.
  • The consequences of repairs, conversions or modifications carried out by companies which are not approved by the manufacturer.
  • Use of the vehicle in the United States of America, or Canada where PEUGEOT provides no after-sales service.

    Work carried out under the Paintwork Warranty must be carried out by a member of the duly authorised PEUGEOT repair network.

    In the case of a change of ownership, subsequent owners will benefit from the remaining period of the Warranty, (one or three years depending of the vehicle) from the date of first registration entered on the Warranty Certificate, provided that the conditions of application have been followed by each of the owners.

    The Anti-perforation Warranty:

    In addition to the two year Warranty, PEUGEOT vehicles are guaranteed by the manufacturer against perforation of bodywork due to corrosion from the inside of box sections which are not accessible from the exterior; for a period:
  • 6 years fro all passenger cars
  • 3 years for all utility vehicles


    The Anti-perforation Warranty covers:

    The repair or replacement of parts of the body work in which perforation occurs due to corrosion, and which are accepted as defective by the Manufacturer or his representative, together with the resulting labour costs. The warranty applies on the express condition that the vehicle has always been repaired with strict compliance with the manufacturer’s standards and that the customer has had carried out, at the appropriate time and in conformity with the servicing schedule defined by the Manufacturer; on the one hand the periodic services mentioned in the PEUGEOT “Warranty and Maintenance Record” booklet and on the other hand, the repair of any damage to the vehicle.

    The Anti-perforation Warranty does not cover:
  • Damage which has occurred due to the negligence of the user or as a result of not maintaining the bodywork in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations,
  • Damage resulting from incidents not covered by the One Year Warranty.
  • Consequences of the deterioration of corrosion protection products caused by additional treatment not specified by the manufacturer,
  • The consequences of repairs conversions or modifications carried out by companies which are not approved by the manufacturer.
  • Corrosion resulting from the fitting of accessories not approved by the Manufacturer and/or fitted without observance of the procedure defined for them,
  • Conversions applied to basic vehicles nor any additional load-carrying body.
  • Wheels and mechanical components not forming an integral part of the bodywork
  • Use of the vehicle in the United States of America, or Canada where PEUGEOT provides no after-sales service.

    Work carried out under the Anticorrosion Warranty applicable to perforations due to corrosion must be entrusted to a member of the duly authorised PEUGEOT repair network.

    In the case of a change of ownership, subsequent owners will benefit from the remaining period of the Warranty, (three or six years depending of the vehicle) from the date of first registration entered on the Warranty Certificate, provided that the conditions of application have been followed by each of the owners.
